Standard Built Athletics exists because we believe most programs underestimate their athletes — and their coaches.
The players we train aren't just looking for drill work. They're looking for the kind of mentorship and competitive standard that transforms how they see themselves and what they believe they're capable of. The coaches we work with aren't just looking for X's and O's. They're looking for the tools, the systems, and the mindset to build programs that win consistently and develop young people with intention.
We've lived both sides of that equation. We know what it looks like at the highest levels. And we've spent our careers proving that the standard is teachable — if you're willing to do the work.

Meet The Founders
Mike Devereaux
Mike has never done anything halfway. A National High School Hall of Fame inductee, he left Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, Wyoming as a multi-sport state champion, began a stellar collegiate career at Mesa Community College and Arizona State before forging a 12-year Major League Baseball career with the Dodgers, Orioles, White Sox, Braves, and Rangers.
His crowning moment came in 1995, when he was named NLCS MVP and helped the Atlanta Braves win the World Series. Inducted into the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame in 2021, Mike has since dedicated himself to developing the next generation of elite athletes as a coach, instructor, and mentor. Now, reuniting with his childhood best friend Allyn Griffin, he's bringing that championship standard to players and coaches who are ready to take their game to the next level.
Allyn Griffin
Allyn knows what it takes to compete at the elite level — and what it takes to build the kind of person who can handle it. A four-sport athlete at Kelly Walsh High School, a local University of Wyoming alumni, and NFL draftee by the Detroit Lions, Allyn spent over 25 years in high school gymnasiums doing what he does best: developing young men through the game of basketball. Not just better players, but better people.
Now, partnering with his lifelong best friend and World Series Champion Mike Devereaux, Allyn is channeling everything he's learned into a new mission: helping players reach their ceiling, and giving coaches the systems and the standard to build programs that win on the court and in life.
